Islamabad, Aug 14 (IANS): At least 11 people were killed and 21 injured Sunday in a remote-controlled blast at a hotel in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, media reports said.

Explosive material was fixed to the wall of a two-storeyed hotel in Dera Allah Yar city, some 250 km from provincial capital Quetta, Xinhua reported.

The building was razed to ground following the blast.

Sources told Geo News that the militants hid an explosives-filled bag inside the hotel and blasted it with a remote control.

Witnesses said there were around 30 people on the ground floor of the building when the blast took place. However, there was no one was on the first floor.

The hotel was located near the main highway of the city. A car was passing by when the blast took place, and was destroyed in the impact. The driver was also injured.

The bodies of the victims, as well as the injured, have been pulled out of the rubble.

Some of the injured were in critical condition, hospital officials said.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.
