Kundapur, Sep 20: Ganesh Putran, the president of Railway Prayanikara Hitarakshana Samithi, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the timetable of extended train No. 16585, which runs from Bengaluru to Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Murdeshwar.

Putran pointed out that the train, which covers a distance of only 20 kilometers between Mangaluru and Surathkal, takes about three and a half hours to reach Surathkal after arriving in Mangaluru at 8.15 am. In contrast, the Matsyagandha Express train manages to reach Kundapur from Mangaluru in just two hours. He suspects that the Southern Railway has yielded to pressure from Kerala's lobby.

Putran called for the development of a more suitable timetable for the train, suggesting an extension of its route to Gokarna. He stressed the importance of creating a timetable that is convenient for passengers traveling to destinations like Mysore, Udupi, Anegudde, Hattiangadi, Vinayaka, Kollur, Idagunji, and Gokarna, while also allocating adequate time for this train, similar to other trains.

SWR / SR are answerable for this undue time consuming journey. If it is unavoidable then better to bypass M’lore Central, stop briefly at Padil and continue the journey which can save about 1 hour.

Without Harming any regions or people interests please think for 20 kilometer taking 3.5 hours is insane and bus only will take 25-30 mins. We should not do any work for the sake of it. It should be done with noble intentions as well. SWR or SR whoever owns it please rectify your time table and make it useful one for the public.
