Diocese of Shimoga Charismatic Renewal Services conducted Sixth Intercessory Night Vigil

Shivamogga, Sep 24: Diocesan Service of Communion (DSC) together with Legion of Mary and St. Vincent De Paul Society led Intercessory Night Vigil at Immaculate Conception Church, New Town, Bhadravati on September 23rd 9pm to 24th 5am. Spiritual director of charismatic renewal Fr Franklin D'Souza together with DSC members: Bro David Raj - coordinator, Sis Elvira Fernandes - secretary, Bro Francis D'Mello, Bro Wilson and Sis Mary Louis led the Night Vigil.

National Service of Communion (NSC) member as well as National Intercessory Incharge of NSC Bro. Mahime Raj helped in conducting the Night Vigil. Bro. Abhishek led the music ministry.

Night Vigil began at 9pm with the rosary led by Bro Francis D'Mello. Then Bro. David Raj - coordinator of DSC welcomed the resource team and the gathering.

Parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, New Town, Bhadravati Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D'Souza welcomed the resource team and gathering also he spoke on importance of the prayer.

At 9:30pm Fr Franklin D'Souza exposed the Blessed Sacrament and led the worship together with Bro. Mahime Raj and Bro. Abhishek.

At 10pm Diocesan Youth Director as well as Charismatic Preacher Rev. Fr Pius D'Souza spoke on "power of Night vigil and effects of prayer". He explained his talk with various biblical references.

At 11pm Bro. Mahime Raj and Bro. Abhishek led the worship. At 11:30pm Bro. Mahime Raj spoke on "Importance of Intercessory prayer and its benefits".

At 12:15am Fr Franklin D'Souza led the prayer of blessing and blessed the faithful.

There was a break from 12:30am to 1:15am. 1:15am to 1:45am Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on Genesis 18:23-45

At 1:45am to 2:30am DSC members Bro. David Raj, Sis. Elvira Fernandes, Bro. Francis D'Mello, Bro. Wilson and Sis.Mary Louis led the Intercession for the Diocese of Shimoga. In each decade of Rosary they led the prayer for the Four deaneries. Namely: Mount Carmel Deanery, Little Flower Deanery, John Marie Vianney Deanery and Holy family Deanery. They individually named the Parishes and surrendered the Parish Priest, faithful and associations of the parish and the Diocese and led the Intercession. Fr Franklin D'Souza accompanied the prayer with deliverance prayer.

At 2:30am to 3:30pm Bro. Mahime Raj led the general Intercession for the State, Nation, World and for the Church with
together with Divine Mercy Rosary. Bro. Abhishek helped in music.

At 3:30am to 4am Fr Franklin D'Souza led the Healing Service and prayed for the participants.

At 4am Holy Eucharist by Fr Franklin D'Souza and thanked God for the Night Vigil.

Vigil concluded at 5am. 250 faithful took part in the vigil.

Ever since DSC is elected every month Intercessory Prayers are led for the Diocese of Shimoga together with the prayer warriors of the Diocese of Shimoga. First three Night Vigil Intercessions were conducted at "Sannidhi" Pastoral Renewal Centre of the Diocese of Shimoga. Then the DSC decided to move to the Parishes with the same concept. First outreach was done at St. Joseph's Church at Sagar with the blessings of Monsignor Felix Joseph Noronha, Parish Priest of St. Joseph's Church, Sagar. Karnataka Regional Service of Communion (KRSC) helped in leading this vigil.

This is the Second Parish that DSC led Night Vigil together with the faithful.

This year on Diocese of Shimoga DSC also initiated Pentecost Night Vigil at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga. Good number of faithful took part in the vigil.

Coming days DSC has planned to move out every Parish of the Diocese of Shimoga. Most Rev Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga blessed the DSC and asked to initiate this Intercession for the Diocese and for the World.
