Kundapur: Villagers protest against person for obstructing Manur Balebettu drain repairs

Kundapura, Sep 24: An incident took place in Balebettu area of Manur in Kota on Sunday, September 24 when the villagers blocked the road and protested against a resident of Balebettu, who created a problem during the sewerage repairs.

The person is said to have built a compound illegally by occupying the government land, and took possession of 4000 stones of the old drain.

The public expressed outrage against one of the ex-members of the Kota grama panchayat, who is aiding and abetting the issue, and shouted that the panchayat should take possession of the government land immediately.

Demand for Panchayat intervention

The villagers demanded that the panchayat should take a tough stance and act on behalf of the villagers instead of taking a soft stance on this issue.

Village elders Heriya Pujari, Koti Pujari, Shankara Pujari, Arunachal Maya, Rajendra Urala, Korgu Pujarti, Shailaja Shetty, Girija Pujarti, Saku Pujarti, Chandra Pujari, Harisha Pujari, Prasad Billava, Ratnakara Pujari, Praveen Shetty and grama panchayat ward members were present in the protest. Shivaram Shetty and Shantha were also present.
