Mangaluru: Newly appointed police inspector-led team arrests MDMA drug peddler

Mangaluru, Sep 25: A police team under the leadership of Ullal police inspector H N Manjunath who was appointed only two days ago, has arrested Deralakatte resident Sharif (30), who was accused of trying to sell the banned MDMA drug weighing 45 grams in front of Deralakatte Yenepoya Medical college near Plaza hotel.

The police inspector and Ullal police station crime division police staff have made the arrest. Cases of selling ganja and other drugs under Ullal and Konaje police station limits are pending against him.

H N Balakrishna has taken over charge as the station inspector as the previous station inspector Sandeep G S was transferred two days ago. H N Balakrishna said that people can complain to him if they come across anybody selling drugs. “Immediate action will be taken against such elements,” he said.

Police station staff Ranjith, Manjunath, Akbar and Ashok took part in the operation.
