Mumbai, Aug 19: Actor Shah Rukh Khan has filed a law suit against Agni, a jewellery brand, for illegally playing the yet-to-be-released song ‘Chamak Challo’, from his upcoming movie ‘Ra.One’ at the fashion week.

T-Series, which possesses the rights of the song, has issued a legal notice to the brand demanding for a compensation of Rs 2 crore. The song was anyway reported to have been leaked online about four months back and Agni had used the track when actress Amrita Rao walked the ramp.

‘Chamak Challo’ is a song by R&B artist Akon featuring Kareena Kapoor.

A source close to SRK said, “He was livid when he learnt that the unreleased number has been used by the brand. The scratch version of the song was leaked on the internet a few months ago, which was probably picked up by the jewellery brand. It is a very careless mistake. Surely they knew that the song requires license."

Bhushan Kumar, head of T-Series, said, “One needs to get a license to use any song for a show. Moreover, for a song yet to be released, one cannot even obtain a license!”
