Mangaluru: Traffic diversion during 'Walkathon 2023' on Nov 1

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The city police have planned a 'Walkathon 2023’ - walk together for drug-free future,  in Mangaluru on November 1 at 4 pm as part of 68th Karnataka Rajyotsava. More than 5,000 students from more than 120 educational institutes are expected to participate in the rally.

The walkathon will start from the Town Hall and proceed via Hampankatta, K S Rao Road, Navbharath circle, PVS, Lalbagh, Ladyhill, Narayanaguru circle and reach Mangala stadium. The details of traffic diversions ordered by the police department during the rally are as follows:

1. Traffic is banned from Mangaluru city and service bus stand on Clock tower road till the rally reaches Clock tower circle from the south entrance of Town Hall.

2. Traffic is banned on Fathima store road of the Central market.

3. Soon after the rally reaches the Clock tower, vehicles approaching from City and Service bus stand should turn to the right near the Clock tower, proceed against the traffic, one way till Hampankatta junction, turn to the left and proceed via LHH road.

4. All the vehicles approaching from Ambedkar circle via LHH towards City and Service bus stand and Nehru Maidan should turn to the left near Hampankatta junction, proceed via Railway station road and U P Mallya Road.

5. Traffic of all kinds is banned on P M Rao Road.

6. Traffic of all kinds is banned on Sharavu Ganapathi temple Road.

7. All the vehicles approaching from Car Street towards Ambedkar circle should proceed via Navabharath circle and V T Road near Yenepoya hospital (Karnataka Bank), reach K S Rao Road and proceed via Court Road or City Centre Road.

8. Traffic from Bunts Hostel / Karangalpady to P V S Circle is banned. Vehicles approaching from Ambedkar circle to Lalbagh and those approaching from Karangalpady road and Ambedkar circle towards KPT should proceed via Kadri Kambala road.

9. All the vehicles approaching from Kudroli to M G Road should procced via Mannagudde Sanghaniketana road and enter Narayanaguru circle M G Road after Ladyhill.

10. Traffic from KSRTC junction till Narayanaguru circle (Ladyhill) is banned. They should proceed from Bejai Kapikad via Kottara Cross.

11. Traffic from Narayanaguru circle (Ladyhill) between Mannagudda road is banned.

12. Traffic from Kudroli Kulur Ferry Road is banned on the following roads: PVS Kalakunj Road, Kodialguthu road, TMA Pai Road, G G Road (Pathumudi road), Mannagudda road (Ballalbagh), Nehru Avenue Cross road.

Parking is banned at the following places:

Town Hall, Clock Tower, K B Katte – Hampankatta, K S Rao Road – Navabharath circle, P V S circle, M G Road (from PVS till Narayanaguru circle, both sides of Mangala Stadium Road.

From Narayana Guru circle (Ladyhill) till Mannagudda, both sides of Kulur Ferry road.
