Mangaluru: Vijaya Rural Development Foundation holds annual general body meeting

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The Vijaya Rural Development Foundation held their 32nd annual general body meeting at Hotel Moti Mahal here on October 31.

President of the foundation and head of Bank of Baroda Mangaluru zone Gayatri R called on to put to use available land resources.

She said that there is ample land suitable for cultivation in India. “Our elders were growing healthy food that enabled Indians to remain healthy. The current group of cultivators need to encourage growth of pulses that are conducive for good health. The foundation is prepared to provide necessary expertise for the purpose. Our foundation is ready to provide necessary facilities to women and youth for
self-employment,” she said.

Secretary of the foundation released details of previous year’s activities. Vice president of the foundation Premanath Alva spoke addressing the meeting. The members of the management committee and the members of the foundation present during the meeting expressed their opinions.

Programme coordinator Sachin Hegde welcomed and proposed a vote of thanks. Management committee member, progressive farmer Kadamajalu Subhash Rai was felicitated.
