Kundapur, Nov 2: Jayaprakash Hegde, president of state backward communities’ commission said, “Manjua Matha Vishwa Patha, prophesied by great writer Kuvempu, which proclaims unity in diversity, should be our motto.”

Hegde was speaking after inaugurating the programme Niranthara that was held under the aegis of Varuna Theertha Vedike on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

Hegde further said, “It is the responsibility of all of us to save and nurture Kannada. We have to inculcate the habit of not forgetting Kannada even when we go to outstation states and overseas countries for employment purpose.”

Ananda C Kunder, promoter of Manoor Padukare Geethananda Foundation presided over the function. Sujayindra Hande, lecturer of Gangolli government college was felicitated.

Achievers in different fields like movie actor Raghavendra D G Theerthahalli, swimming expert Master Diganth R Poojary Kotathattu, devotee of Kannada Parampalli Ramanna and Ananda devadiga of Kota Sri Hiremahalingeshwara temple were also felicitated.

Kota gram panchayat president Jyoti Bharath Kumar Shetty, Kotathattu gram panchayat president Satish Kundar, Koteshwara Varadaraja Shetty, principal of degree college Rajendra Nayak, president of Varuna Theertha Vedike Udaya Devadiga, owner of Latha hotel Venkatesha Prabhu and Kota Satish Hegde of Kota GSB Hitharakshana Vedike were present.

Honorary president of Varunatheertha Vedike Udaya Devadiga did the introductory speech. Chandra Achar Kota welcomed the gathering. Ravi Bannadi offered the prayer. Manjunath Karthottu compered the event.
