Mangaluru, Nov 3: The annual general body meeting of South Kanara District Chemists & Druggists Association (R) was held at Ganeshotsava Sabha Bhavana, Nagori on October 29.

Sujith Bhide presided over the forum, Chitharanjan as honorary president, U. Sunil Nayak vice president, Gurucharan Rao as secretary, Walter D'Cunha as joint secretary and treasurer, Vinay Rai; members Prashant Shetty, Sharath Alva, Santhosh Lobo, U H Hameed, Narendra Prabhu, Vasudev Bhat, Ajith Shetty, and C H Gafoor were present.

Arun Shetty, the proprietor of Prafful Medicals Kulshekar was unanimously selected as president, Amrith Kiran Rai as the cice president, and Dr A K Jamal as the secretary. Chandrasekhar Bhat as treasurer and Srinivas Bhat as joint secretary took over the charge. Naveen T R, Srikanth Shetty, Ramdas Shenoy, Sudhakar Pai, Sunil Dsouza, Rohit Kumar, and Uday Kumar were inducted into the governing body. It was decided that Chitharanjan would continue as honorary president. Senior members Jnaneshwar Hegde and Mohammad Kunhi honoured the immediate past committee. Arun Shetty took charge and promised to make sincere efforts to find answers to the problems faced by the trade. Honorary president Chittaranjan and senior member Ganesh Kamath wished the new committee success. The vote of thanks was rendered by secretary Dr A K Jamal. Executive committee member Shashidhar Palangaya convened the programme. The 58th annual general body meeting concluded with the national anthem.
