Mangaluru: Srishti Yakshotsava – Dhareshwara to be conferred with Srishti Kalabhushana award

Mangaluru, Nov 4: The programme of conferring Srishti Kalabhushana award to renowned Bhagavath and Yakshotsava of Srishti Kala Vidyalaya of Bengaluru will be held on November 5 at Parampara auditorium near Chennammannakere Acchukattu.

Shalini Jagadish, principal of APS Public School, Jeetendra Kundeshwara, president of Kundeshwara foundation, Srikant M G, honorary president of Srishti Kala Vidyalaya will participate.

During the programme Draupadi Pratapa and Shwetakumara Charithre Yakshagana presentation, directed by Bhagavata Subraya Hebbar and Bharatraj Parkala will be held from 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm. This information was shared by president Chayapati Kanchibail.

Dhareshwara is the actual Ganagandharva of Yakshaloka. After getting trained in Hindustani music initially, he implemented new technology with new tunes as a Bhagavath in Sri Perdooru Mela of Kota Amritheshwari Mela. He created record by publishing more than 450 audio cassettes of Yaksha Prasangas and more than 250 videos. He used Keerthanas of Purandardas, Kanakadas, Guru Basavanna and Chennamallikarjuna, songs of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu and Da Ra Bendre in various social Yakshgana Prasangas in an emotional manner. In his 50 years of journey of Yakshaloka he has directed and done Bhagavathike of more than 300 Mythological, historical and social presentations. The prasangas like Amrithavarshini, Sindhoor Bhagya, Rakta Tilaka, Shudra Tapaswini, Charu Chandrik, Gagana Gamini, Vasantha Sene and Vijaya Kesari have seen successful presentations.
