Kundapur, Nov 4: The office members of Kundapur taluk working journalists' association met superintendent of police (SP) of Udupi district, Dr Arun K at his office on November 4.

Under the leadership of the taluk engaged journalists' association, in collaboration with the police department and the education department, as part of the Karnataka Rajyotsava and Children's Day programme, an essay competition called ‘Na Kandanthe Police’ (Police as I see) has been organized for the SSLC students of 27 Kannada schools in the Kundapur region this month.

The association told the SP that they have has organized this program to gather the thoughts of students about the police, not as a source of fear but as a source of hope, and to showcase their love for the Kannada language and culture.

The SP appreciated the programme positively and said that it is essential for the public and students to understand about the police. He said that this is an excellent initiative and a great programme, and the department will support it.

Kundapura taluk working journalists' association president Nagaraj Rayappanamath, general secretary Ganesh Beejadi, treasurer Lokesh Acharya Tekkatte, joint secretaries Raghavendra Balkuru, Yogish Kumbhasi, and committee member Srikant Hemmadi and journalist Silvester D'Souza were present.
