Kasargod, Aug 30: A youth, who had ventured into the sea to take holy dip on the occasion of Teertha Amavasya on Monday August 29, was washed away by waves.
He has been identified as Pravin (20), son of Koragappa Moolya and Kamala couple from Kayyar Ponnettod in the district.
His friends, Abhishek (20), and Harish (17) too were with him when Pravin was taking bath. However, their efforts to save Pravin, who drowned all of a sudden, turned futile. Abhishek and Harish were rescued by local people thereafter.
