Karkala, Aug 31: In a curious development, main accused in the case of abduction and murder of Hussein, a car owner from Kabettu in the town some days back, main accused, Sulaiman (33) from Banglegudde here, and Sikander (19) from Kabettu, surrendered in the local court by giving a slip to the policemen, on Tuesday August 30. It may be recalled that Hussain was tortured and his penis was cut off by his abductors, before slaying him.

It is said that the above accused developed cold feet at the prospect of their elimination by the policemen in the guise of encounter. They were presented in the court by Satish Bantwal. They were handed over to seven days police custody by the court.

The policemen found that Sulaiman has clicked some photographs in his mobile, to prove his participation in the protest launched by Anna Hazare at Ramlila ground, New Delhi, relating to Lok Pal Bill. The policemen believe that this is a gimmick aimed at hoodwinking the policemen, who were scouting for the accused all these days.

Hussein, who was abducted on July 31 this year, had later been murdered by his abductors. The Karkala police have already arrested Rafiq Banglegudde, Ansar Banglegudde, Taufeeq Bailoor, Ashraf Bailoor, Abdul Sattar Kaup, Hamzat Kaup, and Badruddin Kaudoor in this case.
