Mangaluru: Horekanike of St Joseph Vaz pilgrim center, Mudipu annual feast held

Mangaluru, Nov 27: A Horekanike procession with pomp and gaiety was held from St Joseph Vaz church Mudipu to the pilgrim center on Sunday evening as part of annual feast celebrations.

Mudipu pilgrim center director Fr Assisi Rebello, resident priest Fr Santhosh Menezes, Varkadi church priest Fr Basil Vas, Catholic Sabha Mangaluru central president Alwyn D’ Souza, Panir church pastoral council vice president Naveen D’ Souza, secretary Santhosh D’ Souza and Mudipu Lions Club president Arun D’ Souza Nattihitlu were present.

Special prayers and holy mass will be celebrated at 5 pm on November 30 with Vorkady church parish priest Fr Basil Vas as the chief celebrant. The festival Mass at 5 pm on December 1 will be celebrated by the bishop of Mangalore diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha as the main celebrant. Other Masses will be held at 11 am and 7 pm. The festival Mass at 5 pm on December 2 will be celebrated by Mysore diocese administrator Dr Bernard Moras as the chief celebrant. Mangalore diocese bishop emeritus Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’ Souza will be the chief celebrant of the festival Mass at 5 pm on December 3. There will also be a Mass at 11 am in Kannada. The concluding Mass at 7 pm will be celebrated by Mangalore diocese vicar general Msgr Maxim L Noronha as the chief celebrant.
