Rajasthan, Dec 29: Deepesh Kumari, a native of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, defied all odds to become an IAS officer, emerging from humble beginnings as the daughter of a street snack vendor.

In a small house where a family of seven struggled to make ends meet, Deepesh displayed exceptional brilliance. She pursued her Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from MBM Engineering College and later achieved her Master's in Technology from IIT Mumbai under a fellowship.

Eager to embark on her UPSC journey, Deepesh enrolled in a coaching institute in Delhi. However, due to the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 lockdown, she had to return to her hometown. Undeterred, in her second attempt at UPSC, she reached the interview round and secured an impressive All India Rank of 93. This accomplishment brought immense joy to her father, who had been selling pakodas and chaats on the streets for more than two decades.

The pivotal role played by Deepesh's mother cannot be overstated. She was instrumental in bringing out the best in her daughter, providing unwavering support during setbacks in her academic career. Deepesh's journey stands as a testament to the notion that, even amidst hardship and financial constraints, one can achieve their goals through unwavering focus and dedicated effort.
