Udupi: Angels Pune, Srujanya win Bellampalli Mercury dance crew's 'Rocks India vol-2'

Udupi, Dec 29: Angels Pune and Srujanya won the first place in the 'Rocks India volume 2' all India national level dance championship organized by Mercury Dance Crew, Bellampalli. The event was held on December 28 at Bellampalli. The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 70000 in group category and Rs 20000 in solo category along with trophy.

The competition was held in two categories, group and solo. A special attraction mummy only ‘Naach Mummy Naach’ solo dance competition was also held on the occasion. A total of 14 members participated in the solo dance and five teams in the group dance competition including teams from Pune, Mumbai and various parts of Udupi and Mangaluru.

Vibha and High Flyer 33 won the runner up trophy along with the cash prize of Rs 10000 and Rs 35000 respectively along with the trophy. Neeta Kunder and Anupama won the first and second place respectively along with the Rs 10000 cash prize in the ‘Naach Mummy Naach’ category.

Purandar Kotian, president Kukkehalli gram panchayat along with Vanamala Shetty, former member APMC Rati Kanchan, Rakesh Nilaya Bellampalli Naveen Salian, president youth Congress Kaup block Vijay Puthran, president auto union Manipal Dinesh Puthran, businessman Satish Putrhran, former member Udupi CMC Krishna Kodibettu, vice president electrical contractors association Udupi Taluk Harish Kumar, civil engineer Malavika Associates Prajan Hegde, lawyer Kukkehalli Rakesh, president Mogaveer yuva sanghatane Kukkehalli Ashwini Kamath, and others inaugurated the dance competition. Dinesh Mendona, Sumith Shetty Kaudur, Guruprasad, Nagaraj, Sairam floorings Nittur Sathyananda Nayak Athradi Harish Manipal, executive member Udupi BJP, and Rajesh Puthran, president Manipal car union. 

Purandar Kotian, president of Kukkehalli gram panchayat speaking on the occasion said, "I congratulate Mercury dance crew for organizing such an amazing event in this rural area. I wish all the very best for the event and would be very much excited to see many more such programmes from the Mercury Dance Crew team in the upcoming days too.”

Shantha B, former headmistress of Doddanagudde aided higher primary school said, "I served 41 years as a teacher. I have tried to improve in KE school Bellampalli. I feel proud to say that many of the students of this school have spread across the nation and international levels.”

Harish Kumar, civil engineer Malavika associates said, "Today it is not easy to organize a dance competition. But Rakesh and Sandeep have shown how to organize a dance competition. They have made this place known to the world. We all have to support them.” 

Krishna Kodibettu, vice president Electrical Contractors Association Udupi Taluk Naveen Salian, president Youth Congress Kaup block and other dignitaries wished God luck for the event.

Shantha B, former headmistress of Doddanagudde aided higher primary school Sathish Puthran, former member Udupi CMC Ashwini Kamath, recipient of bravery award 2000 Dinesh Poojary Athradi, social worker Sushanth G Suvarna, sports achiever Chaithanya, dancer were honoured on the occasion.  

Tanuja A Kotian, Sumith Amin, Kishore Aman Shetty, and Anvitha Sagar judged the competitions.  

Prasahthan Shetty Havanje, Chethan Shetty, Sandesh Perdoor and Vijetha Shetty compered the programme. Rakesh Kanchan and Sandeep Kunder, organizers of the event were much applauded for their efforts in organizing such a high-quality dance competition,

Anil Shetty, Prasahath Shetty, Nithesh Shetty, Nagaraj Kanchan, Krishna Kulal, Gayathri Bangera, Rati Kanchan, Anand Kotian, Nikil Shetty Ashwini Kamath, Nishanraj, Ranjan Kanchan, Arun Acharya Divaker Kodibettu, and Anthra Kotian, along with the judges presented the prizes to the winners.
