Bantwal: Container truck wedged in railway overbridge

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (MS)

Bantwal, Jan 7: A container truck encountered difficulty as it became lodged beneath the railway overbridge at Modankap on the B C Road-Polali road on Saturday evening.

An iron girder is installed at the lower portion of the overbridge to safeguard it from potential damage caused by heavy vehicles passing underneath. Unfortunately, the upper section of the truck became entangled with the iron girder. Fortunately, the presence of two roads in the vicinity prevented any disruption to traffic flow.

The truck, transporting chemical barrels from Bengaluru to Mangaluru, had followed directions from Google Maps, leading it onto the inside road. Bantwal traffic police promptly responded to the scene and, with the assistance of a crane, successfully dislodged the stuck truck.

Using Google maps?It has brought many people in problems. One thing driver should know. Not with closed eyes ,and dependedent on maps only. Why driver had not seen the height of his Container and height of Bridge compared.?A bit of air from tires would have helped or not?

Dear Joseph, English is just another language, a medium of communication and is not something you should insult. I am sure you will not know so many other languages and are bot ashamed not knowing it. Plus Ms. Rita has spelt it right. But it is the American english, not the UK. So focus on the subject and not on ridiculing others.

While construction time railway authority must mention clearly the height of the bridge from ground level.

Accidents are normal for RTO or those driving at high speed or careless manner in Karnataka/India. Rules have been not followed by Motorists and ALSO NOT IMPLEMENTED BY CONCERNED AUTHORITIES!!! That's why many people loose life on daily basis around Karnataka. Heavy vehicle drivers / buses drivers are superiors and most cases small vehicles facing the difficulties. Government authorities often take bribes instead of punishment to drivers!!!??? It happens normal everywhere after one week of the accidents and back to rash driving until one more accident.
