Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jan 7: Cases of Covid-19 infection are increasing in Karnataka by the day. Plan is afoot to administer the booster dose of the vaccine to control the pandemic. Recently, 1,140 doses of vaccine arrived in Dakshina Kannada district from Bengaluru.

Karnataka has already received 30,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. These are being distributed to all the districts.

From January 9, the vaccine will be administered at all taluk hospitals including Wenlock Hospital of Mangaluru. Wenlock has been given 580 doses while 140 doses each have been sent to four taluk hospitals as per the information provided by health department officials.

This time around Corbevax vaccine is being given instead of Covishield and Covaxin. From January 5, registration to get the vaccination jabs can be done through Cowin app.

Those who have completed six months or 26 weeks after taking their second dose of Covishield or Covaxin vaccines and who are above 18 years and those above 60 years and above all those who have not taken precautionary dose, can take the Corbevax Covid-19 vaccine booster dose. Those with lower immunity and health workers can also take the jabs.

Vaccines will be administered at district Wenlock Hospital of Mangaluru, taluk hospitals of Bantwal, Beltangady, Puttur and Sullia on every Tuesday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Health department does not know whether they will get more vaccine doses after the present 1,140 doses get over. The department is mulling over the matter and a plan based on the demand for vaccines will be chalked out in future.

Udupi district has received 540 doses and action is being taken to administer the same to Covid warriors and adults.

Do not take any unaccounted/untested so-called vaccines for any reason. The people who advertise/promote these vaccines must take all the 3/4 doses first, then if the results are satisfactory after a year without any side effects, let them promote it. Moreover, we must develop self-immunity so we can be healthy. even the head of WHO and the CEO's of vaccine manufacturer not taken the jab.

For JN 1, vaccine is not required except for a few people. Cobrevax is developed from the spike protein- not the whole virus ( unlike Covaxin). In mutation of viruses the spike protein changes so this vaccine may not work. Though not required for most of us, if at all someone is interested in taking a jab Covaxin would be better choice as it is developed in the traditional way from the whole Corona virus and is not known to form blood clots.

New strain, year old vaccine What is the use? Then next 3 months another vaccine strain, again in December 2024 another JN2 strain! By that time vaccine for JN1 will come for roll out. So every six months flu vaccine for seasonal cold ? In between people die of heart attack, brain clot and turbo cancer then a western study would say that is due vaccine induced long covid ? Good business for bigPharma using fear of common cold and renaming it with greek or alphanumeric names?

Testing the waters with offer. According to WHO scientists no need for any vacs for the present variant but poor vaccine industries might go bankrupt without fear and panic. 3 years back one Karnataka doctor had categorically stated no safe and effective vaccines can be developed against any mutating viruses e.g., flu vaccines in. 4 decades .
