Indian Equities Markets Start Week in The Red


Mumbai, Sep 19 (IANS): Indian equities markets started the week with a negative bias as a benchmark index fell minutes after opening bell.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) which opened at 16,865.93 points, was ruling at 16,824.4 points, down 109.43 points or 0.65 percent from its previous close at 16,933.83 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading in the red at 5,053.35 points, down 0.61 percent.

Broader markets were dull. The BSE midcap index was trading 0.18 percent higher, while the BSE smallcap index was flat.
