Mangalore: Three Thefts – Loss Put at Three lac Rupees

Mangalore, Oct 3: In three separate cases of thefts registered in Pandeswhar police station here, the concerned claimed that they have lost valuables worth around three lac rupees.

Lalita (36), living opposite Ananta Sadana building in G T Road Kudroli said that thieves entered into her house by breaking open the front door.  They took away gold ornaments worth Rs 2.50 lac, she said. The incident reportedly occurred between 8.30 pm and 9 pm on Saturday October 1, when no one was at home.

A Compaq laptop belonging to Shirley Crasta, which she had kept on the table of S N Cyber Centre on K S Rao Road in the city, was stolen by unknown thieves. The value of the laptop has been put at Rs 35,000.

In her complaint, Lalita K Shetty from Kavoor Padavingangadi said that the gold chain she was wearing around her neck was snatched away by someone, when she was travelling by bus from New Chitra Junction to Car Street. The thief made good his escape immediately, she said. The value of the chain has been estimated at Rs 48,000.
