Chennai, Oct 10: Director Ramkumar’s eagerly awaited upcoming film ‘Irandu Vaanam’, featuring Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, will not hit theatres on October 23 as announced earlier, its makers said on Saturday.

Production house Sathya Jyothi Films announced the postponement in a statement shared on its X timeline, expressing confidence in the film and the cinematic experience it promises to deliver.

“‘Irandu Vaanam’ is a film that holds a very special place in our hearts. We have immense faith in the film and the unique cinematic experience it promises to bring to audiences,” the production house said.

It also thanked theatrical distributors, business partners, fans and audiences for their overwhelming support and encouragement throughout the film’s journey.

“With the aim of bringing the film to the widest possible audience and ensuring the best theatrical experience, we have decided to explore a more favourable release date instead of the previously announced October 23. We will announce the new theatrical release date of ‘Irandu Vaanam’ very soon,” the statement said.

“Some journeys are worth waiting for. And when the time is right, ‘Irandu Vaanam’ will light up the skies,” it added.

The film, whose shooting was wrapped up on June 10 last year after 150 days, has generated considerable anticipation among fans and film enthusiasts.

Announcing the completion of the shoot on X last year, Vishnu Vishal had written, “Last day of #IranduVaanam... 150th day of shoot... It's been a journey that you also will get to feel on the big screen soon.... @dir_ramkumar has cooked something unique and interesting again... Thank you @SathyaJyothi.”

Expectations are high as Ramkumar is collaborating with Vishnu Vishal for the third time after delivering two successful films, ‘Mundasupatti’ and ‘Ratsasan’.

The film is being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Its first-look poster, released a few months ago, drew attention for its distinctive design, featuring two sections connected by the sky. Vishnu Vishal was shown seated on a cloud on one side, while Mamitha Baiju appeared seated on a cloud facing the opposite direction.

The title ‘Irandu Vaanam’ translates to ‘Two Skies’.

The film features music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematography by Dinesh K Babu and editing by San Lokesh. Gopi Anand is handling art direction, while Vicky has choreographed the stunts and Keerthivasan is in charge of costumes.

Dance choreography is by Leelavathi, while the visual effects are being handled by Harihara Suthen of Lorven Studios.

The film has been produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan, with G Saravanan and Sai Siddharth serving as co-producers.
