Udupi: Deafening Blast at UPCL Site – People Taken Aback

Udupi, Oct 5: A resounding blast was heard from within the area covered by Udupi Power Corporation Ltd on the night of Tuesday October 4.

The sound, which was heard at around 10.15 pm, was followed by a thick cloud of smoke.

The villagers living in the vicinity said that they had experienced a similar situation a few months ago. In that case, a pipe had burst near the fly ash collection pond of UPCL.

The company has not come out with any explanation relating to the incident yet.
