Moodbidri, Oct 11: Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology (MVSIT) will be organizing a two-day national conference on 'Modern Trends in Science and Technology' here on Friday October 14 and Saturday October 15.

Prof S N Hegde, former vice chancellor of University of Mysore will inaugurate the conference while Coimbatore-based School of Civil Engineering of Karunya University Dean Dr E J James will be the guest of honour.

D M V Shetty Memorial Trust founder secretary Dr M Ramgopal Shetty will preside over the  programme.

The valedictory will be held on Saturday at 4 pm.

Prof S A Kori, registrar of Visveswaraya Technology University (VTU), Belgaum will be the chief guest and Prof Sudhakar Nayak, registrar of Nitte University will be the guest of honour.

Dr M Ramgopal Shetty will preside over the function.

Scholars and eminent personalities from various universities - Dr Ullasgurudas from Karunya University, Coimbatore,  Dr S Shrihari from NITK, Suratkal, D M S Indira from MVIT, Bangalore, Dr S A Khan from P A Engineering College, Dr Lucy Gudino from BITS Goa, Dr K P Soman from Amrutha Vidyapeetam, Coimbatooer will present their research papers.

The national conference will provide a platform for the staff and students to explore their innovative talent and keep in pace with latest technical developments. It will also provide an opportunity for the students, academicians and engineers to interact with each other which will motivate their research interests. It will give an opportunity for M Tech students and research scholars to present papers related to their research work, stated principal Dr Sandeep J Nayak in a press release.
