Mangalore: Late Mary & Joseph Pinto Niddodi Scholarship Endowment Fund Instituted

Mangalore, Oct 12: Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh organized the institution ceremony of the late Mary and Joseph Pinto Niddodi Scholarship Endowment Fund and distribution of scholarship programme here on Sunday October 9.

The Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Catholic Sabha former president Dr Gerald, president Walter Cyril and Edward, the sons of the late Mary and Joseph Pinto Niddodi, with an initial contribution of Rs1.5 lac, to extend financial assistance to youngsters in pursuing their chosen vocations.

Dr Gerald Pinto, professor of Milagres College, Kallianpur and Daiji Dubai Literary Award winner, presenting the cheques to Elroy Kiran Crasto, the treasurer of central executive Committee, said, ‘This is our initial contribution to encourage the youngsters who are in need of support to pursue essential vocations. The returns from the fund will be utilized to finance needy and talented youngsters of our community.  We did not build tombs instead we have floated a fund in memory of our departed parents, he added.

Maria Lobo of Shamboor parish and student of SDM Law College, Royston Pinto of Miyar parish and student of Institute Chartered Accountants and Nevil D’Souza of Kuloor parish and post graduate student of e-media, University of Mysore were awarded scholarship of Rs 15,000 each. 

Catholic Sabha central executive Committee past presidents L J Fernandes Venur, Peter J Rodrigues Bantwal and Lancy D’Cunha Bondel, honored the scholarship awardee.

Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh central executive president Walter Cyril Pinto welcomed the gathering.
