Mangalore: Special Forest Mobile Squad Seizes Truck Illegally Transporting Timber

Mangalore, Oct 13:
Police personnel of Mangalore special forest mobile squad detained a mini-truck laden with timber at Madoor, near here, and arrested a man for illegally transporting logwood on Wednesday October 12.

The accused has been identified as M S Hyder who was handed over to the custody of Mangalore range forest officer by forest mobile squad sub-inspector Manjunat K R.
 
The police seized the truck and timber together worth Rs 2.55 lac.
 
The operation was carried out under the instructions of Madikeri forest unit SP A K Anvekar by Manjunat K R along with head constable Sitaram, police personnel Umesh, Honnappa Gowda Narayan, Harischandra Gowda, and Ramachandra Maniyani.
