Bengaluru, May 25: The mysterious death of a college girl in the city has been resolved by the police. Surprisingly, it was not an intentional murder, but rather the tragic outcome of a conflict with a boy who is now in conflict with the law.
Prabhudhya's murder has finally been solved by the Subrahmanyapura police, who have arrested a minor boy in connection with the case. He has been sent to a remand home.
Prabhudhya's mother filed a murder case as soon as she found Prabhudhya dead at home. However, the police were initially confused and couldn't find any clues from nearby CCTV cameras. It was only footage from a CCTV camera at the end of the lane leading to Prabhudhya's house that provided the police with a clue about the minor boy.
The accused minor boy was a friend of Prabhudhya’s brother and a frequent visitor to their house. He had stolen Rs 2000 from Prabhudhya's wallet. She had witnessed his act but did not question him at that time.
The minor boy had broken his friend's spectacles while playing and had been asked to get them repaired. However, fearing rebuke from his strict parents, who own a bar and restaurant, the accused minor boy stole Rs 2000 from Prabhudhya's purse instead of asking them for the money.
Prabhudhya called the minor boy on May 15 to speak to him about the money he had stolen from her purse. The minor boy caught her feet and asked for an apology. While holding her feet, Prabudda lost her balance and fell to the ground unconscious. Fearing that she might expose his theft, the frightened minor boy slit her hand and throat and escaped through the back door of the house. As there were knife marks on old scars on Prabhudhya's body, her death was initially considered a suicide.
Based on the CCTV footage, the police interrogated the minor boy, who eventually confessed to the crime. A case has been registered at Subrahmanyapura police station, and the boy has been sent to a remand home as he is a minor.
