Mangaluru: 46th community celebration of weddings held at Rosario Cathedral

Mangaluru, May 30: The 46th community celebration of weddings of 5 couples was organised on Sunday, May 26, at Rosario Cathedral, Mangaluru. The event was organised by the society of St Vincent De Paul, Rosario Church under the leadership of its president Mary J Pinto.

The main celebrant of the Holy Mass and nuptials was most rev Dr Aloysius P DSouza, bishop Emeritus of Mangalore.

Thereafter, the felicitation function was held at the church hall. The chief guest of the event was Dianny Lobo, vice-president (Operations) Cattleya Technosys Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru. He raised the toast and felicitated the newly wedded couples. The programme was conducted as per the Christian traditional customs. The couples were presented with nuptials gold rings, sado, dress materials, utensils etc, by the organisers.

The president of the society Mary Pinto honoured the donors of the function.

Irene Martis conducted the proceedings of the liturgy and Alwyn DSouza was the master of ceremony for the felicitation programme.

Fr Alfred Pinto, the parish priest welcomed the gathering and Tressy DSouza, the secretary, SSVP proposed the vote of thanks. John DSilva, the vice-president of the PPP, Rosario and more than 500 honoured guests were present. The function ended with dinner.
