Kundapur, Jun 25: Taluk level Janaspandana programme was held in the presence of deputy commissioner (DC), CEO of ZP and SP on June 25 at the N R Shetty auditorium near Shastri Circle in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Dr Vidyakumari said, “This programme involves receiving of pubic petitions at the taluk centre and resolving them then and there. Due to election code of conduct Kundapur taluk level Janaspandana meeting got delayed. Public petitions are registered here and tokens are given to them. The issue will be resolved in the presence of the concerned officers. In addition, the same will be uploaded on the web portal connected to this.”

MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi said, “Janaspandana is a good programme. Departmental officials should think and plan to hold such meetings every day in order to resolve the issues of public. Every day we get hundreds of complaints of revenue department. Mainly change of Khata, RTC etc. officials should resolve them quickly or else give proper explanation on the backside of the petition. Propaganda about today’s programme was less. Officials are more than the public. More people should have participated.”

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole said, “If administration is taken near people, it will be very convenient for them. For certain works public is made to visit the concerned department again and again. People are not aware of the issues of the department. They should be informed about the technical issues and shortage of staff. For some issues coordination between two or more department is needed. The public is not aware of this. Officials have to respond to public suitably.”

SP Dr Arun Kumar, ZP deputy secretary Radhakrishna Adiga and assistant commissioner S R Rashmi were present. Tahsildar Shobhalaxmi welcomed the gathering.
