Sullia, Jun 26: The Yeslur police arrested four individuals following an assault on a group of young men from Mangaluru at the Patla Betta tourist spot near Bisile Ghat in Subramanya.

The incident took place on June 23 when a youth from Mangaluru's Kottara, along with his friends, visited Patla Betta for a day of sightseeing. According to the complaint, as the group was returning from the tourist spot, they were intercepted by local drivers at the entrance of Patla Betta. The drivers allegedly used abusive language and attempted to extort money from the youths.

The accused, identified as Gagan, Kiran, Nishanth, and Madan, were reported to the Yeslur police by Bhavit, a resident of Mangaluru, through an email complaint. The complaint accused the four of hooliganism and extortion. Following a thorough investigation, the Yeslur police arrested the suspects for their involvement in the crime.

The incident gained widespread attention after a video showing the assault on the youths went viral on social media, leading to an outpouring of anger and concern. In response to the incident, a group of youths from Subramanya met with deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday. They submitted a memorandum requesting immediate action to curb illegal extortion and ensure the safety of tourists at popular destinations like Patla Betta.

One thing is sure. When they assault people who come for sight seeing ,without reason ,noone will come in future, and if any income they can have from tourism will also, not there.Of course tourists who come should alsobehave as only tourists without making any extra noice or mischieves. If someone bahves out of the line please dont go to punish them personally but call Police or any persons nearby to record it.So peace will come automatically. When locals behave out of line then naturally tourists too will not keep quiete.Never touch anyone.

4 person arrested because of the memorandum to DCM. I had seen the video clip, it is ridiculous. One more matter to observe, Police arrested the "Suspect". Video clip having clear evidence of assault, then why "suspect"? One fine day, those suspected God Father(S) will come and "Suspects" will be released because, any how they are the suspects only
