Pakistan Telecom Firm Fined Rs 82 Million


Islamabad, Nov 4 (IANS): A Pakistani telecommunication firm has been fined Rs.82 million for unauthorized use of radio frequency spectrum.

Pakistan Telecommunication Co Ltd was fined by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Dawn reported Friday.

Pakistan, where the mobile telecommunications sector is seeing very large year-to-year growth, has witnessed an increase in mobile phone imports.

The import jumped 13.79 percent during August as compared to July.
