Europeans Too Slow in Tackling Crisis: Brazil

Rio De Janeiro, Nov 9 (IANS): European countries are too slow in helping solve the global economic crisis, said Brazilian Finance Minister Guido Mantega.

He criticised the European countries for letting the situation deteriorate, reported Xinhua.

"Only now they are going to solve Greece's problem, but there's already another problem to solve: Italy," Mantega said Tuesday.

He said that despite its grave economic problems, Italy is stronger than Greece.

Mantega also said there has been some capital flight from emerging countries, and warned that though Brazil may be doing better than some other countries because of its large forex reserves, other countries are not that lucky.

"We must worry about that because if the emerging countries are hit, the (global) situation will get worse," he said.
