B'lore: HC Reserves Orders on Yeddyurappa's Three More Bail Pleas to Nov 15

Bangalore, Nov 9: A day after former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa secured bail from the High Court after serving 24-days in jail, another single-judge of the State High Court reserved orders till November 15 on his anticipatory bail pleas in connection with three private complaints filed against him in the Lokayukta Court.

Justice H Billappa posted the applications of Yeddyurappa and three of his family members after conclusion of arguments for orders to November 15.

Yeddyurappa, his sons — B Y Raghavendra, MP, B Y Vijayendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar have sought anticipatory bail apprehending arrest in connection with the three of the five private complaints alleging irregularities in denotification of government lands.

The former chief minister was released from Judicial custody on Tuesday after Justice B V Pinto of the same High Court granted him bail in two private complaints. in which he had been arrested on October 15.

Former Muzrai Minister S N Krishnaiah Setty, who was also arrested and remanded to judicial custody, was also released on bail by the same judge on Tuesday.

Advocate Sirajin Basha had filed the five complaints and the Lokayukta court had ordered the arrest of Yeddyurappa in two complaints after taking cognisance of them.


Yeddy Rubbishes Reports of Floating His Own Party

Meanwhile, the former chief minister, while answering questions from reporters, rubbished the newspaper reports regarding the speculations that he might be floating his own political party over differences with the BJP national and state leadership.

''I am loyal worker of the party and am committed to work for strengthening the party as a loyal worker,” he said.

''Why should I float a new party? I have built the party in the state,” he said pointing out that the BJP has grown as the Number One party in the State from a mere two members in the State Legislative Assembly.

Yeddyurappa also dismissed reports that he wanted to be made the State BJP President.

''I am not aspiring for any post including that of the state unit President. As a loyal worker of BJP, I will tour the state and strengthen the party,” Yeddyurappa said

Confessing that he was grateful for the support and prayers from his supporters and people at large, he blamed some forces including opposition leaders for foisting corruption cases filed against him.

''Jeasousy and personal enemity over the government’s achievements and the welfare schemes were the reasons behind the political conspiracy against me,” he said making it clear that he was confident of clearing himself of all charges.
