Udupi: Pilgrimage Journey of Diocesan Holy Cross Reaches Mundkoor Parish

Udupi, Nov 10: The Mangalore diocese post-centenary silver jubilee cross was received at Fatima parish, Mundkoor, from St John Bosco parish, Kelmbet, on Tuesday November 8.
 
Mundkoor parish priest Fr Canute Barboza ceremoniously received the Holy Cross from Kelmbet parish priest Fr Peter Pinto along with parish council vice-president Peter D’Souza in the presence of a large number of parishioners.


A short prayer service was organized and was followed by Holy Mass on the occasion.
 
Fr Anil was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic Mass.  Fr Anil, in his homily, stressed the sanctity of the Holy Cross.
 
A brass band accompanied the procession of the Holy Cross meditating on moments of Jesus Christ. It was an event where graces and blessings from the Lord flowed down on the parish and it’s faithful.
 
The Holy Cross was placed at the altar in Mundkoor parish for veneration from Tuesday evening to Thursday November 10.
 
The cross is being taken around all parishes of the diocese in commemoration of 125 years after carving out the independent diocese of Mangalore. It is being adored at each parish in 15 deaneries.
