Mangalore: Immaculate Conception Church Organizes Urwa Fancy Fete - 2011

Mangalore, Nov 10: Immaculate Conception Church, Ladyhill here organized Fancy Fete-'11 on the church grounds and 'Artfest' in the Centenary Hall, under the leadership of the Vicar Fr Victor D’Mello on November 6 from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm.

As the weather proved itself to be good, the crowd attended in large number. The object of the Fancy Fete is to collect funds in aid of the Education Fund to help the poor students to pursue their studies.

Fr. Benjamin Lobo, the first donor and main sponsor inaugurated the Fancy Fete '11 and M R Vasudeva, director, Airport Authority of India,Mangalore Airport inaugurated the ‘Artfest’ presented by the
Karavali Chitrakalavidara Chavadi, Mangalore. Praveen Kumar,
Mayor, City Corporation was the chief guest.

‘Fancy Fete – 11’ presented enjoyment to kids and adults through various exciting games, homemade vegetarian and non vegetarian delicacies, super jumble sale, American auction, Housie-Housie etc.

Centenary Hall was the venue for the ‘Artfest’ where painting exhibition and also demonstration were held by various artists
and painters. Displayed were the paintings in acrylic, oil color and collage by more than 30 renowned painters.

Drawing of portraits, cartoons, caricature, collage work etc. drew special attention of the visitors.The Fancy Fete came to an end at 9.00 pm when Fr Victor D’Mello praised the Lord for good weather and thanked everybody – volunteers and visitors, for their kind co-operation.
