M'lore: Khader Urges Union Minister Vayalar to Permit Private Flight Operators on Dubai Route

Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore (RD/CN)

Mangalore, Nov 12: After Air India Express (AIE) flight number IX 813 to Dubai was cancelled on Thursday November 10, MLA U T Khader on Friday November 11, urged the union minister of civil aviation Vayalar Ravi and Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials to restore the trust of passengers who are inconvenienced due to missed appointments and other issues as a result of this cancellation.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Khader said that some of the passengers who were to board IX 813 traveled to Bangalore on Thursday night and boarded the Dubai-bound flight there.  He himself reached Dubai at 1.00 pm on Friday to keep his appointment.  “Some of the passengers traveled by train to Kozhikode and boarded the Dubai-bound flight without an alternative. One passenger did not want to take a chance as his visa was likely to expire in a day,” he added.

Khader urged minister Ravi and AAI officials to allow other flight operators to operate Gulf flights from Mangalore airport to avoid monopoly by AIE.  “It would give an alternative to regular travelers,
in case of flight delays and cancellation of flights by any one operator,” he added.

Khader appealed to passengers who were inconvenienced by the cancellation of the flight, to forward their grievances to AIE and union ministry of civil aviation wherein the District Congress Committee (DCC) would extend support to them by staging a protest in front of the city office of AIE, seeking uninterrupted flight services.

He also drew attention to the fact that passengers are switching over to flights of other operators to arrive at Mangalore airport, with a stopover in Mumbai as the AIE air crash has affected the trust of
international passengers.

Mr Veerappa Moily had told few months back that Mangalore airport will be given international status within December. Now only 49 days left for him to keep is word.

Moily, Krishna, Kharge, Muniyappa should do atleast some work for the state for being in cabinet berth. Otherwise people will show you door in the coming elections.

Though we have our own Railway minister, train got diverted to Kannur. We people have lost hopes and trust on these useless politicians.

Decission making Officials from CIVIL AVIATION MINISTRY pls speak to Indian PASSENGERS and Associations Officials in Kuwait, Dubai, Oman, Bahrain and Doha to know the inconvenience of the passengers those who travel by Air India Express to Mlore sector to know a BIG LIST OF DIFFICULTIES they go though while travelling to this sector. The TICKET FARE goes high in many ocassions. It will not be true if we think that all the passengers in Gulf countries are having white collar jobs and earn better income, there are thousands of maids and drivers also work here for very less salaries. Many a times LUGGAGES not reach in time and only 20 KGS allowed from Mlore and 30 KGS from Gulf Countries whereas some other Airlines allow more lugguage to Indian Destinations. In short Air India Express would please look for the conveniences of the passengers while looking or their own profts. It is good that Political/Social figures like Mr. Khader has requested the civil Aviation Ministry to look into the concerns of the Gulf based passengers to Mangalore sector.
We COASTAL NRIs here in KUWAIT, DUBAI, OMAN, MUSCAT and DOHA request all the decision making officials in AIR INDIA EXPRESS please to consider the CONCERNS of Gulf based Passengers to Mlore sector and solve the same. Mlore/Saudi sector direct flights is also awaited since a long time. Civil Aviation officials may also pls think of permitting Jet Airways,King Fischer & Fly Dubai Airlines to operate to Mlore.
