Karwar: Tempo Collection Dispute – Driver Bites Off Cleaner’s Ear

Karwar, Nov 12: In an incident that occurred on Friday November 11 at Ankola in the district, the cleaner of a passenger vehicle lost his ear.

The driver of the passenger tempo that shuttles between Ankola and Kumta reportedly fought with the cleaner of the vehicle. The driver, who counted the money collected by the cleaner during the return trip from Ankola, found that it was much less than what was expected by him. After the fight, he bit off the ear of the cleaner in a rage. The cleaner in question, named Suresh Nagappa Naik from Manjuguni, was admitted into the government hospital for treatment.

The tempo driver, named Ganesh Shantaram Naik from Bobruwada near here, was arrested. Investigation is on.
