Puttur: Fatal Fall of Labourer from Under-construction KPTCL Tower

Puttur, Nov 12: A person working on the under-construction electrical tower of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd died after slipping and falling down. The incident occurred on Thursday November 10 at Pundikai, Olamogru village in the taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Kuruppu Swamy (21), a native of Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu.

An electric tower is being built at Pundikai of Olamogru village for drawing power line for the 110 kv power station being set up at Madvavu in the taluk from Netla Mudnoor. Swamy was working atop the tower, when he lost balance. He fell down from a height of about 15 metres, and suffered grave injuries. He was carried in a critical state to the hospital, but died on the way, it is gathered.
