Karkala, Nov 11: The annual feast of St Martin De Porres parish, Belvai, near here was celebrated recently.

The festal celebrations began with the Eucharist by Fr Ronnie Serrao, professor and dean of Theology at St Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore, along with 14 clergies.

Before the Holy Mass, blessed candles were distributed to every family as a sign of gratitude towards their contribution to the feast.

Fr Ronnie Serrao, in his homily, reflected on the saintly life of St Martin De Porres.

The mass was accompanied by the choir, singing beautiful hymns. The wonderful choir, which sang with so much enthusiasm throughout the service, was conducted by John D’Costa and his team.

Belvai parish priest Fr William Barboza expressed his sincere gratitude to all who contributed and actively took part in the celebration.

After the festal Mass, the faithful rushed to light candles in order to honor their patron saint.
