Pakistani Military Plane Crashes, Pilot Killed


Islamabad, Nov 14 (IANS): A Pakistani Air Force trainer crashed Monday morning in a hilly area some 80 km west of capital Islamabad, killing its pilot, a PAF spokesman said.

Rescue teams found the body of the Squadron Leader Hussain near Mansar town at Attock district, Online news agency reported.

According to PAF spokesperson, the aircraft, which had taken off from the Kamra airbase, crashed due to a technical malfunction.

The pilot's body was recovered some three kilometres from the crash site, local media quoted sources as saying.

Earlier, media reports had said that the pilot had bailed out before the crash.

A fire broke out in the mountains where the plane crashed. This was doused by locals and rescue teams.

No loss of civilian life or property has been reported on ground, according to the PAF spokesperson.
