Mangalore: District Congress Celebrates Pandit Nehru's Birth Anniversary

Mangalore, Nov 15: The birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was observed at the district Congress office here on Monday November 14.

Presiding over the programme, district congress president Bantwal MLA Ramanath Rai said that Nehru, being the first prime minister of India, introduced five year plans for the betterment of the people of this nation. Rai recalled that Nehru had a special fondness for children.

Leaders Mohammed Masood, P V Mohan, Ivan D’Souza, Sadashiv Ullal, T K Sudhir, Farooq Ullal, and MLA UT Khader were present.

Ramanath Rai garlanded the portrait of Nehru on the occasion.
