Mangalore, Nov 15: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Anjelore Parish celebrated children’s day on Sunday November 13. The day provides an opportunity to every one to renew their commitment to the welfare of the children, and impart to them the ideals for which Chacha Nehru lived.
Parish president Fr Mathew Vas presided. While appreciating the children for the talents showcased, he urged them to make optimum use of their talents, thereby bringing joy to their parents and glory to God.
Children of different age groups exhibited their talents by participating in dance, singing, and skit programmes. Sherin Walder along with youth from ICYM, CLC and YCS had provided training to the kids.
On this occasion, achievers in various fields, both at state and national level were honoured with mementoes by parish priest, Fr Mathew Vas and assistant parish priest Fr Santosh Lobo. Prizes were also handed over to winners of various competitions held at the parish level.
Gloria D’Souza compered the programme. Angel Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.
