Mangaluru, Aug 28: In connection with the recent stone-throwing incident at the residence of MLC Ivan D'Souza, the south police station had registered an FIR and formed a special investigation team led by ACP Central. The team diligently reviewed CCTV footage, verified vehicle details, and gathered information from eyewitnesses to identify and apprehend the culprits.
As a result of these efforts, two individuals, Bharat alias Yakshith (24) and Dinesh Kurthamogeru (20), were arrested. Bharat from Narayan Kodi House, Bolantoor village, Bantwal taluk, works as a driver and has three prior assault cases against him. Dinesh from Parthipadi House, Kolnadu village, Bantwal taluk, works in finance collection at Kanyana and has one previous case of assault.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, citing anger over statements made by Ivan D'Souza as their motive. They revealed that after having dinner at Fish Crown Hotel around 9:30 PM, they impulsively decided to throw stones at Sri Ivan D'Souza's house.
Further investigations, including verification of their movements through CCTV footage and mobile records, have independently confirmed their involvement in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and appropriate legal action is being taken against the accused, informed police sources.
