Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Nov 17: In an incident that occurred at Morangal in Aletty village in the taluk on the night of Tuesday November 15, a teenaged couple ended their life. It is gathered that they were afraid their elders might object to their relationship.

The deceased are Pravin (19), son of Rama from Aletty Morangal, and Chandravati R B (15), daughter of Babu from Doddadka, Rajarampur, Sampaje in the taluk.

Chandravati, a ninth standard student of the government PU college here, stayed at BCM girls hostel in the town. She had not attended school on Saturday, and the family members were worried as she did not come home. Pravin, who used to work as a coolie, was the grandson of an elder sister of Chandravati’s mother.

The two met each other and visited various places on Saturday and Sunday. The family members, who were searching for Chandravati, found the bodies of lovers hanging from the same tree on a hillock at Morangal. While Pravin had used his lungi to hang himself, Chandravati had worked up a noose by using the veil of her churidar.
