Mangaluru, Sep 16: Muslims across Karnataka celebrated Eid Milad on Monday, September 16, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.

This occasion is observed to honor the life, teachings, sacrifices, and character of the Prophet, who is known for his compassion, even towards his enemies.

On Eid Milad, people wear new clothes, offer prayers, and exchange gifts. The festival falls in the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the lunar calendar, following the sighting of the moon. While it is a day of celebration for many, some also mourn, as it is believed to be the death anniversary of the Prophet.

On Monday morning, Muslim devotees took out a procession in Bunder to commemorate the occasion.

How smart are we to use the word un-Islamic here? Looking at it that way, a lot of things need to be taken into account, which are unwanted nowadays. Why few people are criticizing only Eid Milad? The celebration of Eid Milad is a sign of love for the Prophet and not something like worship. For those of us who do not see the Prophet and his immediate followers, this celebration is just a festive beauty... That's it....

Processions take place in Mumbai and other cities on the 10th day of Muharram, which was observed just two months ago and which had been the tradition for the past many years. But this seems to be far from tradition, its a new invention.

Removing obstacle even if it's a stone on public road is least part of faith in Islam, moreover creating Chaos on public road and traffic disturbance all these creates uneasiness to general public Islam doesn't permits these kind of celebrations . Hope muslim realise ,learn and spread great characters of prophet instead of practicing unislamic ways which may create confusions and disturbances to peace loving citizens of our country.

Well said brother. Unfortunately religion has hijacked all civics sense. Needless to say even in my community and religion, celebrations completely block roads, create noise and nuisance. Any rational voice like ours will be quickly shut down😑😬 Anyway happy eid ul milad to you and yours
