Kasargod: Two-and-a-half-year-old boy dies after gate collapses

Kasargod, Sep 18: In a tragic incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after a gate collapsed on him at Mangad.

The deceased boy, Abu Twahir, was the son of Mahin Rasi and Rehima from Tekkakare, Uduppa Palla.

The incident occurred at a relative’s house in Mangad. While playing, the gate fell on the boy, trapping him underneath. Though he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kasargod, efforts to save him were unsuccessful.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of Kasargod General Hospital.

    Rita such sport or kids play used to be very common in Mangalore where there were iron gates which movable left to Right and vice versa. I myself, enjoyed free ride with another companion. (luckily it was a newly installed)

    Cant believe.So sorry a child had to die because gate was not stabile.Was it fixed with gum?People should take care when gates are built to build stabile.Tomorrow even self can be a opfer.Heartfelt sympathy to parents.May the child be rest in heaven

    Very sad and heartwrenching incident. Kids have such habbi to stand on gate and swing or move to n fro. I remember similar incident at our neighborhood during childhood days.
