New Delhi, Nov 24 (IANS): The crucial Question Hour in both houses of parliament was suspended for the third day of the winter session Thursday after opposition members created a ruckus over rising prices and statehood to Telangana, forcing adjournments of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha till noon.

As soon as Speaker Meira Kumar called for the Question Hour to start the day, MPs from the Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh were on their feet, flashing placards for a separate state to be carved out of the southern state.

Samajwadi Party members also gathered near the speaker's podium raising slogans against the rising prices and highlighting the government's alleged failure in curbing inflation.

Amid the din, Meira Kumar adjourned the house till 12.

The scene was similar in the Rajya Sabha where Chairman Hamid Ansari also adjourned the house till noon.

However, the houses are likely to resume normal work after 12 as, according to sources, the government has successfully bought peace with the Left and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The sources said the government has agreed to the BJP's demand for an adjournment motion on the black money issue to be taken up in the Lok Sabha.

Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani is expected to move an adjournment motion on black money in the afternoon.

The Left parties have also agreed to have a discussion on inflation under Rule 193 that does not entail voting in the lower house.

In fact, the price rise debate figures on Thursday's business list. The discussion will be raised by Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Basudeb Acharia.
