Rahul Afraid of BSP: Maya

Lucknow, Nov 28: Chief Minister Mayawati showed her political strength by organising a mammoth rally at Lucknow on Sunday.

CM used the occasion to lash out at Congress yuvraj Rahul Gandhi who has been hitting out at Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) lately during his meetings. The rally was organised by the dalit workers of the party.

“It seems that Rahul is afraid of BSP so he is getting nightmares about elephant. He is doing all drama and spreading canard about us,” said Mayawati amidst thunderous applause of lakhs of her supporters.

CM Mayawati spoke for nearly 75 minutes without pause while her party cadres listened in rapt attention.

CM Mayawati also fired salvos at central government stating people had suffered a lot during the four decade rule of Congress. She also decried the faulty economic  policies which has also resulted in nation’s downfall. She also took a shot at the Rahul Gandhi’s ‘beggar' remark stating that the people of UP did not get jobs due to Congress party’s policies in the past and now when they migrate to other states, they are referred to as beggars. “It is an insult to the people of UP,” she said.

Next in line was the NREGA scheme which has been highlighted by the Rahul during his speeches. “NREGA gives job only for 100 days while for the remaining days of the year, the people are jobless. It is not fair and if we assume power, jobs will be provided to the poor round the year,” she said.

In an oblique reference to Congress, Mayawati claimed that BSP does not promote dynasty politics.

The crowd which was impressive by any numbers numbered around 2 lakhs. The rallyist also responded well by shouting slogans in her favour.

Impressed by the large crowd, She also announced that another rally will be held on December 18, this time by Kshtriyas and Muslims.
