Mangaluru: St Aloysius ITI celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated on November 1st, in the college premises.

Fr John D'Souza SJ - director, St Aloysius ITI; Roshan D'Souza - principal; Noel Lobo and Wilson N - training officers; Umesh J A - convener of the programme, Darshan S - president, student council were present.

Karnataka is a land rich in diversity and heritage. From the lush greenery of the Western Ghats to the historic temples of Hampi, from the vibrant culture of Mysore Dasara to the architectural marvels of Belur and Halebidu - our state has been a beacon of knowledge, culture, and prosperity. We hoist the red and yellow Karnataka flag, let us remember our shared heritage and take pride in our Kannada language.

The programme began by singing the song Vande Matharam. The national flag and state flag was hoisted by Fr John D'Souza SJ - director, St Aloysius ITI. Everyone who were present for the programme sang the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and the Nadageethe “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate”.

Umesh J A - convener of the programme welcomed the gathering.

Arjun, electronics mechanic 1st year student said the importance of Karnataka Rajyotsava.

Fr John D'Souza SJ addressed the gathering by saying, “We come together to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava, a day that fills every Kannadiga’s heart with pride and joy. We must respect the Kannada language. If we go to Bangalore we see our state flag on the buildings. In Bangalore Karnataka Rajyostava is celebrated in grandeur.”

On the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava Group Singing competition was organised.

15 teams participated in the competition.

Ist Prize – MRAC 2nd year and MMV 1st year
IInd Prize – electronics mechanic 1st year
IIIrd Prize – MMV 2nd year

Darshan S - president, student council proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Gururaj, student of MRAC 1st year trade.
