Udupi: Burglars Flee with Booty worth Rs 3.5 lac from Kordabbu Daivastana

Udupi, Dec 9: Burglars entered into a temple, located near Ambagilu, on NH 66, here at around 1.30 am on Thursday December 8 and  decamped with a silver sword, silver crown, cash placed in cupboard and offering box, together costing upto Rs 3.5 lac.


The Daivastana was renovated in February 2011. The devotees had placed oil lamps in the temple on Wednesday evening and the burglary came to light, when the devotees arrived on Thursday early morning.

The policemen arrived with fingerprint experts, canine squad and are working on vital clues to nab the burglars at the earliest. DySP Jayant Shetty visited the spot. Town police registered a case in this regard.
